Rees Howells Short Biography
After fully surrendering to the Holy Spirit in 1906, Rees Howells a Welsh miner, was led deeply into a life of faith and
intercession, first for individual cases for healing and conversion and then, later, for various situations on national and
international levels.
After marriage to Hannah Elizabeth Jones, Rees Howells was called to Southern Africa where God moved in widespread revival
power. Thousands were saved, and many were healed. One of the greatest miracles was when he declared that anyone living
in his mission station during a time of terrible sickness that led too death would not die. The Lord honoured him in
believing that word from God.

Unexpectedly God led Rees Howells to open a Bible College in Britain, to teach the principles of faith and intercession
he had learnt. It was to be founded and sustained by prayer and faith; with ten pence only in hand they believed God for
the equivalent of millions of pounds today to begin and sustain the work.
Rees Howells dedicated his life to be an example to all, of what can be achieved by prayer and faith alone. He taught that
it is safe to trust God's Word and His promises.
During the World War Two, Rees Howells led his Bible College in intercession to see the breaking of the dictators that
would hinder the work of world evangelism. They laid down their lives in intercession, just like the young men who were
on the front lines of battle. Rees Howells challenged them to be living martyrs.

They prayed through the situations in Dunkirk, the Battle of Britain, D-Day, and the involvement of Russia in the war and for many other situations including for the establishment of the State of Israel. The story is told in the worldwide best selling book, "Rees Howells Intercessor", by Norman Grubb, published by Lutterworth Press.
