A Measured Response - Todd Bentley – Compassion and Mercy
This is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“In the light of My word consider carefully the measure with which you have judged one of your brothers
in Christ - Todd Bentley. With that same measure you also will be measured, so consider carefully your own position in Christ.
“Some of you will be surprised to learn that it is My will and intention to *restore and use this man again for My
glory, therefore I say again, consider carefully your own position in Christ before you dare to cast another stone,
verbal or otherwise in his direction. Yes, there are lessons for the whole body of Christ to be learned from
Lakeland and his [Todd Bentley’s] life, but be warned, he is not the only student in My school of faith.
“Where are those who were quick to align themselves with him and the move of My Spirit? Where are they now?
They were quick to slip away into the shadows unlike David’s mighty men who fought at his side, and what of
all the others who were just as keen to be seen with him, where are they now? How quickly so many have been
to distance themselves from My servant in his hour of need. Did you ever stop to consider the fact that I
am sovereign and knew from the beginning what would come to pass and the lessons to be learnt from it?
“While you were all watching Todd, I was watching you and I am just as disappointed with some of you, as you have been
with him. So I ask you, if I am to have compassion and mercy on you who have been very careful to keep your own sin
hidden from others, but not from Me, for all have sinned and fall short of My glory, should you not also have
compassion for him whose sin had been aired for all to see?
“So I say to you this Good Friday that the good news of the Gospel is that the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ was
shed for all mankind and for all their sin, not just the few. Furthermore, it was I who have caused others to come
alongside Todd to minister to his needs and so I would remind you that it is more blessed to give than to receive,
but now it is Todd’s time to receive.
“Be warned that in this hour the enemy will overcome all who have not allowed their sinful nature to be crucified;
but those who do and set their minds on what My Spirit desires will become overcomers, My true church. The body
of Christ has an obligation, but not to the sinful nature, but to live by My Spirit, for if you are led by My Spirit
you truly are sons of God.
“As I continue to pour out My Spirit on all flesh, so the enemy will continue to prowl around like a lion seeking
to destroy My work on the earth. So I say to you, do not be deceived, you will reap what you sow, and if you sow
to please your sinful nature you will be destroyed by it; so do not only read my word, but do what it says.”

*Scripture declares that King David was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13:14, 1 Samuel 16:7, 1 Kings 15:3, 5 and Acts 13:22),
yet in a moment of weakness he committed adultery with Bathsheba who was married to Uriah the Hittite. She became pregnant
and because of this he wrote a letter which led to her husband’s death. David then married Bathsheba (2 Samuel chapters 11-12),
but King David’s sin displeased the Lord (2 Samuel 11:27). King David was repentant and God forgave him (2 Samuel 12:13-14 and
Psalm 51), but these sins did not overshadow his passion for God, as God sees the heart which was loyal to Him (1 Kings 15:3-5,
David’s life became synonymous with all that was good and it was to him that all the other kings of Judah (his descendants) were
compared, whether good or bad (1 Kings 15:11, 2 Kings 14:3, 2 Kings 16:2, 2 Kings 18:3 and 2 Kings 22:2 etc.).
